The BSEB was established in 1952, and it is headquartered in Patna, the capital of Bihar. Bihar Board 10th subjects
The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) conducts the Secondary School Examination (SSE) for Class 10 students in the state of Bihar, India. The SSE is also known as the Matriculation examination.
The subjects offered in the SSE are:

- Hindi
- Mathematics
- Social Science
- Science
- Sanskrit/Urdu/Bangla/Maithili/Arabic/Farsi/Bhojpuri
- Second Indian Language
- Optional Subject
The first six subjects are compulsory for all students, while the second Indian language and optional subject are optional. Students can choose from a list of languages and optional subjects offered by the BSEB.
In addition to the written examination, the SSE also includes a practical examination for certain subjects, such as Science and Mathematics.
