Bihar Public Service Commission, BPSC was formed 63 years ago on 1 November 1956. Its headquarter is located in Patna. Apart from this, recently the name of the chairman is Mr. Shishir Sinha, about 1600+ employees work in it.

Your Physical Eligibility for BPSC : If you want to join BPSC i.e. Bihar Public Service Commission, then for that the height of male person is going to be 5 feet 5 inches. and is taken up to 5 feet 3 inches in a single race, and the minimum size for women is stretched to 5 feet two inches

BPSC exam is mainly taken in three phases, the names of those three phases are as follows

  • Preliminary Examination (Preliminary Examination)
  • Main Exam (Main Exam)
  • interview (interview)

Preliminary Examination :


Its preliminary examination is conducted in two languages Hindi and English. Its preliminary examination is of general knowledge. Out of which there is a complete question of 150 marks, and for that you are given 2 hours, and you have to answer the complete question in this time.

Main Examination:


When the preliminary exam is done, some people are selected from that, and only they are allowed to take the next i.e. main exam. In mains exam you are written by exam. And for that you have a test of General Hindi, General Knowledge and any optional subject. You are given 3 hours out of these and one subject is of 100 marks and three subjects are of 300 marks.

Interview :


After passing both types of exams, you are called for interview, and you are asked questions from it, there are many types of these questions, many experts come in the circle of questions from you. If you clear it, you will get your job.

Recruitment is made by two methods

1. Direct Recruitment:-Direct recruitment is made mainly by way of conducting the competitive examination in which the selection is done on the basis of either of the following procedures.

Procedure 1

a) Preliminary examination
b) Main (Written) Examination of the candidates successful in Preliminary Test.
c) Interview.

  • Main (written) and interview

Procedure 3

  • Interview only

2. Promotion:-Promotion is granted to civil servants through the Departmental Promotion Committee (under the chairmanship of the Commission) constituted for the same and in accordance with the rules framed by the State Government.
