CMA stands for “Certified Management Accountant.” Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is a professional certification in management accounting that is offered by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). The CMA program is designed to prepare individuals for careers in management accounting, financial management, and strategic planning. To be eligible for the CMA program, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of professional experience in management accounting or financial management. The CMA program consists of two parts: a written exam and a professional experience requirement. The written exam covers topics such as financial planning and analysis, financial statement analysis, decision analysis and support, and strategic management. The professional experience requirement requires candidates to demonstrate their knowledge and skills through work experience in a management accounting or financial management role.
