PM Kisan Samman Nidhi: Financial Aid for Eligible Farmer Families

The objective of the Pm kisan yojana – Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme is to provide financial assistance to all landholding farmer families to help them purchase inputs needed for proper crop health and appropriate yields. The scheme provides a benefit of Rs. 6000 per year, which is released by the Central Government directly into the bank accounts of eligible farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer mode. This assistance is intended to supplement the farmers’ income and meet their domestic needs. However, certain exclusions apply.

Under the PM-KISAN scheme, eligible farmers receive financial aid of Rs 6000 annually, distributed in three installments of Rs 2000 every four months.

Eligibility:

  • Eligible farmer families: All landholding farmer families (subject to the prevalent exclusion criteria)
  • Cultivable holding: Up to 2 hectares
  • Coverage: Around 14.5 crore beneficiaries

Exclusions:

  1. Institutional landholders are not eligible for benefits under the scheme
  2. Farmer families in which one or more members belong to the following categories:
    1. Former and present holders of constitutional posts
    2. Former and present Ministers/ State Ministers and former/present Members of LokSabha/ RajyaSabha/ State Legislative Assemblies/ State Legislative Councils,former and present Mayors of Municipal Corporations, former and present Chairpersons of District Panchayats.
    3. All serving or retired officers and employees of Central/ State Government Ministries /Offices/Departments and its field units Central or State PSEs and Attached offices /Autonomous Institutions under Government as well as regular employees of the Local Bodies (Excluding Multi Tasking Staff /Class IV/Group D employees)
    4. All superannuated/retired pensioners whose monthly pension is Rs.10,000/-or more (Excluding Multi Tasking Staff / Class IV/Group D employees) of above category
    5. All Persons who paid Income Tax in last assessment year
    6. Professionals like Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers, Chartered Accountants, and Architects registered with Professional bodies and carrying out profession by undertaking practices.

Application Process

  1. Online – Via CSC (Common Service Centres)

Required Documents:

  • Aadhaar Card
  • Landholding paper
  • Saving bank account

Steps:

  1. The VLE will fill in the Farmer registration details such as State, district, subdistrict, block, and village, key-in the Aadhaar number, Name of beneficiary, category, Bank detail, Land Registration ID, and Date of birth as printed on the Aadhaar card for authentication.
  2. The VLE will fill in the Land details such as Survey/Kahta No., Khasra no., and area of land as per the mention in land holding papers.
  3. Upload the supporting documents such as Land, Aadhaar, and Bank passbook.
  4. Accept the self-declaration and save the application form.
  5. After saving the application form, make the payment through the CSC ID.
  6. Check the Beneficiary status through the Aadhaar number.
